The Krzywy Domek, in English the Crooked House, Is a mall located in the lower Sopot, at 53 Monte Cassino St. - the world-wide famous Monciak walking street which begins in Moniuszki St. by the Opera Leśna (Forest Opera), extends through Moniuszki St. and I Maja St. to Bohaterów Monte Cassino St. and it ends at the entrance of the Sopot pier. It was designed by Szotyńscy & Zaleski who were inspired by fairytales illustrations. Its irregular appearance and sinuous shapes are inspired by Gaudi's work and inspired by the illustrations of Jan Marcin Szancer, as well as in traditional illustrations of German Expressionism. The edification is dark and dingy. In my opinion this building is totally different from the structures that we are used to see. I also like to be inspired by the work of Gaudi, I had the opportunity to go to Barcelona and to see his works, and I consider Gaudi's to be one of the best architects in history, since his work is not traditional.
